Oliver Massmann is a graduate
of the law faculty of the Ruhruniversität Bochum in Germany
and the Foreign Language University, Hanoi. He is Counsel of Choice
of German Embassy in Vietnam since 1999, Board Member of German
Business Association in Vietnam since February 2004, Head of the
WTO Working Group of European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam since
April 2004 and Recommended Lawyer in Vietnam, Certificate granted
by Global Counsel 2003. He is qualified in Germany (1997) and has
extensive experience, both in Vietnam and in Germany, in respect
to Vietnam investment, project finance, infrastructure projects,
privatization and equitization, tax, mergers & acquisitions,
arbitration, and commercial matters.
Massmann advised on the Phu My 3 power project, Vietnam’s
first successful BOT project in this sector. He was involved in
the privatization of East German ports and heavy industrial concerns.
He has conducted many courses in Vietnamese regarding the Bilateral
Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the U.S on behalf of the Ministry
of Justice of Vietnam and international law for some other ministries
of Vietnam.
With many years of negotiation experience and due to his excellent
Vietnamese language, he is an excellent negotiator and has a good
ability to act as an effective communicator between Vietnamese and
foreign parties. He speaks fluent English and Vietnamese, in addition
to his native German. |
